Clinics
Next Clinic Date - June 2, 2012
Double A Ranch offers a series of balanced seat clinics to help optimize the rider's performance. There are many styles of riding that come and go with
the times, but a centered seat will always be a correct seat. A correct seat is balanced, straight, supple, functional, and allows the rider to influence the
horse effectively. Every joint in the rider's body has to participate in the absorption of the horse's movement. If a rider tries very hard to sit still by
stiffening his joints and muscles, the results are kicking legs, bouncing hands, a head-bob, or worst of all, a bouncing bottom.

In the clinics, the riders will learn to ride in a position in alignment with the center of gravity with that of the horse. This allows the horse to more easily
carry the rider, maintain a steady gait, and use his back correctly.

Each clinic begins with a lecture covering the theory and exercises needed during the 2nd phase of the clinic during the mounted lessons. Being longed
temporarily relieves the rider of complex and often confusing tasks, such as managing the horses speed, direction, balance, and alignment. It reduces the
very long list of riding responsibilities, enabling the rider to become organized and concentrate on his or her own balance and self-control. No matter the
discipline, age, and skill-level of rider, learning to ride with a balanced seat will enhance the level of mastery of the skills practiced during a normal
training session.
