Live Foal Guarantee:
- If the mare serviced is found not to have a positive pregnancy from the listed stallion who serviced
her, the owner of the mare is given the right to bring their mare back to be serviced to insure pregnancy. The owner of the mare has up to 3 times to have their mare bred. If by the third attempt of breeding, the owner of the stallion is not required to do another breeding. After the third attempt, the stallion and stallion owner have fulfilled their breeding agreement. At this time, if the mare is not found to be pregnant, we strongly suggest that the mare owner have her checked for fertility. When the mare has her foal the following year, the Double A Ranch only insures a foal as born Live. After the foal has lived a full 24 hours, the Double A Ranch has completed its guarantee. A live healthy foal is described as a newborn foal which stands and nurses without assistance. If foal is born dead or handicapped, the mare owner must notify the breeder within 30 days of the birth and provide a veterinarian’s statement confirming death or handicap.
- If mare is found not have a positive pregnancy after the second breeding attempt, the owner of the
mare is required to have her checked for health reasons. Owner of the stallion is not required to repeat another breeding past a second breeding attempt. If the stallion has provided two breeding weeks and no positive pregnancy results, the owner of the stallion is required to only refund one half of the breeding fee. All other fees are non-refundable. We strongly suggest having the owner of the mare have her mare checked prior to the first breeding attempt for breeding soundness.
- All first time mares are to be palpated and checked by a veterinarian prior to breeding for the first
time.
Note:
- This contract only applies to mares which are breeding sound. We strongly suggest that you have your
mare checked for soundness prior to having the mare bred by the stallion. If the mare is not found by a licensed veterinarian to be breeding sound, the stallion owner is not obligated to produce a live foal and the contract is null and void. The stallion owner cannot guarantee a live foal out of a mare which is incapable of producing a foal.
- Live Foal and Live Color Foal guarantee is Null and Void if the mare listed dies during the
pregnancy or during the delivery.
- It is the mare owner’s responsibility to give the mare the proper health requirements such as her
Equine Rhino-pneumonitis shots to be given on 5, 7, and 9 months of pregnancy to avoid her aborting the foal. If the mare loses a foal due to the owner not giving the proper medications, the Double A Ranch is not required to insure another breeding. If foal is aborted during the pregnancy and all necessary precautions and medications have been given, the Double A Ranch requires a veterinarians note guaranteeing that the proper health vaccinations were given before another breeding is to be done.
- It is highly recommended that the owner of the mare have the mare checked for a positive pregnancy
within 17 to 45 days after the last day of breeding service.
- This contract is non-assignable and non-transferable. In the event that the mare is sold or otherwise
disposed of prior to the birth of the foal, the live healthy foal guarantee will no longer be valid. If the owner of the mare sells the mare during the pregnancy, all breeding guarantees are hereby null and void.
Breeder’s Certificate:
- An authentic American Paint Horse Association breeding report will be issued for the foal conceived
by this mating when the stallion fees and all other expenses have been paid in full and when the mare has produced a live healthy foal by this mating for registration purposes. This applies only to APHA Registered Paint mares, AQHA Registered Quarter Horse mares or Appendix mares, and Jockey Club Registered Thoroughbred mares. For mares of other breeds, the owner is to provide the registration application to the owner of the stallion for signatures and the information needed to insure their foal’ s registration.
